Chamber Players International February 18 Freeport Memorial Library
Concert Features World Renowned Cellist Andrey Tchekmazov

On Sunday, February 18 at 2:30 PM, Chamber Players International and
Freeport Memorial Library will present a special 'slightly-post Valentine's
Day' concert by World Renowned Cellist Andrey Tchekmazov at Freeport,
Memorial Library, 144 West Merrick Road in Freeport, New York.

Internationally renowned CPI cellist Andrey Tchekmazov and piano accompanist
will present slightly post-Valentine's day selections of favorite romantic
chamber works.  Chamber Players International Executive Director David
Winkler will provide commentary on the works performed.

This concert is free and open to the public.  For more information, call

Hailed by critics as an "extraordinary musician" (Washington Post),
cellist Andrey Tchekmazov is known for his versatility as a soloist,
recitalist, and chamber musician.  The Grand Prize winner of Vittorio
Gui International Chamber Music Competition and the Premio Trio di
Trieste, Mr.  Tchekmazov has performed extensively throughout North and
South America, Europe, Russia and Asia, appearing at the Great Hall of
Moscow Conservatory, Osaka Symphony Hall in Japan, New York's Alice Tully
Hall, and Brazil's Sala Cecilia Mereles with orchestras such as Sao Paolo
Symphony, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Kiev Philharmonic and Teatro Alfa
Symphony, to name a few. Among his other prizes and awards are the
Koussevitzky Cello Competition in New York, Stadt, Artist International,
Premio della Critica in Trieste, and Russian National Competition in
Moscow.

Chamber Players International is a major regional presenting and
performing arts organization, presenting between 25 and 30 concert
events serving the entire New York metropolitan area.  Its artistic
mission is to bring chamber music and chamber orchestra performances of
the highest artistic quality to audiences throughout the area with such
world-renowned ensembles as the International Chamber Orchestra of Rome
and New York core-ensemble members as violinist Anna Rabinova, violist
Catherine Greene, cellists Andrey Tchekmazov and Natalia Khoma, clarinetist
Charles Neidich and pianists Tatiana Goncharova, Voldymyr Vynnytsky and
Mirian Conti.  In the 2006-07 Season CPI has subscription concerts series
