The brazilian composer Jose Vieira Brandao died on July 27th, 2002.
He was also a good maestro, a great pianist and teacher.  His work,
in nationalist/romantic style, includes:  opera ("As Mascaras"/"The
maskes"); songs and choral music; piano, chamber, and orchestral pieces.

He was a Villa Lobos' pianist and was a member of the Academia Brasileira
de Musica (www.abmusica.org.br).
