"Enescu" is the original Romanian spelling, "Enesco" is a subsequent
frankicization.  On my recent trip to Bucharest it was evident that the
Romanians have "forgiven" Dl E his long sojourn in Paris and consider him
one of their greatest composers--both a major orchestra and a major
university recital hall there (Bucharest) carry his name.
