Really? I haven't listened to the LPs in a while, but don't recall this.
And the dates (3: 1936, 4:1933) I'd have thought were too late.

The only Eroica I know where the tuba bass is clearly audible is the
Coates, but that was recorded in 1926, so the continued use of an
acoustic-era practice is less surprising.
