Patric Standford (born Barnsley, England, 5 February 1939) is seventy
years old today.  An award-winning composer, a teacher and lecturer of
repute, a writer, music journalist and occasional broadcaster, he is a
musician who has played a major role with many British musical organisations.
His catalogue of compositions was recently assigned to Edition Peters,
London.
