Berlin's Deutsche Staatsoper is preparing for its first-ever
all-the-Wagner-fit-to-play festival in the spring... in Japan. The tour
features what may well be the first out-of-town complete "Ring." (If I am
wrong, I trust I will hear about that...:)

The first cycle, in Yokohama, is Jan. 16-23, the second and third in
Tokyo: Jan. 27 - Feb. 3 and Feb. 6-13. I bet it's all sold out
already, weak economy and all.

Most - but by no means all - of the cast in Japan will be identical with
the one in Berlin:

To keep the Staatskapelle busy in-between performances, there will be six
orchestral concerts as well. When string players require it (and they
will) shiatsu will be available on-site...)
