The partnership broke up - pretty friendily - while Flanders was still
very much in the land of the living; largely because Swann got sick & tired
of the touring grind. Flanders continued performing (one of his musical
collaborators was Joseph Horovitz, a fine composer; probably best known for
the _Rumpole of the Bailey_ theme); while Swann developed his concert music
career.
Religion (Quakerism, if i remember rightly - never guaranteed) was always
a major part of Swann's life; & i gather helped the composer during serious
health problems during the last years of his life. An autobiography -
Swann's Way: a life in song - was published; but i've never seen a copy of
it.
The song was called _Song of Reproduction_, by the way....
