This index of negatives is actually quite helpful.  No composer attempts
to write in those ways; even commercially inspired composers writing
jingles are seeking to "move" listeners.  So when one finds oneself
unmoved, or even hostile to music, it is still educational to attempt
to figure out why.  I shall do so using Steve's categories and any others
anyone wishes to add.

However, "unmelodic" will never be on my personal list of negatives.
