Richard Pennycuick asked about a week ago:

>Music, presented by Leonard Slatkin. Any opinions of it?

Well, it turns out that we in NZ are getting the same series. I missed
the first installment; I've just tried to listen to the second, but my
attention wandered in the middle, so I can't be of as much help as I hoped.
Wildly exciting it certainly isn't; it seems to be related to Bernstein's
Young Peoples' Concerts (What is rhythm (melody, harmony) etc), but without
B's panache. The installment was only an hour long, and much of that was
taken up by musical examples - and I don't think what came in between
offered very deep or startling insights. You not being a musical novice,
I'd say it's unlikely you'll get much out of it - but don't take my word
for it.
