I just finished reading a novel -- yes, a novel -- titled 'Ravel' by
Jean Echenoz.  I read a marvelous English translation by Linda Coverdale
of this French novel which is, I must say, more than a little strange
as it mixes fact and fiction without clearly labelling which is which.
It is minimalist, lapidary even -- it isn't even 100 pages long -- and
I found it strangely fascinating, especially when the author was writing
about Ravel's strange final illness.
