I have been searching unsuccessfully for a single source that lists
composers born at or near mid-century.  So I guess I'll have to compile my
own.  If you would like to help, let me know the name, date of birth, and
any brief biographical material, representative works, contact information
and so on of any composers you know of (yourself included).  Suggestions
for other places to search are also welcomed.  My goal is to make a
comprehensive annotated list of young composers of all nationalities who
have some claim to fame (whether or not they've achieved it yet).  The kind
of music they compose is less important than the quality, although I'm
excluding composers and songwriters who write exclusively popular music.
I plan to include film composers, especially those who have done other
music as well.  Of course I will share my findings with anyone who is
interested.
