I find the timing of this announcement interesting.  The same day Rattle
was announced in Berlin.  A few months ago the Philadelphia Inquierer
Sunday magazine had an article about Philadelphia's search for a new Music
Director, and inferred Rattle was 1st choice, but had declined.  In the
article Rattle was referred to as Boston's Simon Rattle, and explained
something about Rattle's wife's career and the benefits of Boston.

Today's announcements are, Rattle is going Berlin, and Ozawa is leaving
Boston.

I wouldn't mind seeing C. Abbado in Boston.  We'll have something to talk
about.
