"Not virus, I said DNA. Big difference!"

Just FYI, viruses are basically either DNA or RNA with protein coats.  Not really a big difference, because we have viruses IN our DNA.  They are called "retroviruses" and they are responsible for diseases like HIV and herpes simplex.

The world of the genome, the epigenome, and the phenotypic results resulting from the biology within cells is huge and complex.  To put all of it into the same basket, and to assume that we can insert genes anywhere without consequences, is simple hubris.
