> people who love nature and want to stop thoughtless or greedy destruction of the web of life around us.

A dose of the cold water of reality: this week's tornadoes demonstrates that Nature herself is capable of "houghtless or greedy destruction of the web of life around us." Nature has no favorites, her rule is eat and be eaten. People single out their favorite aspect of nature and they love that. I love natural beauty, I am a photographer. I love the smells and sounds of it, too. But with that is the recognition that life itself is a fight to survive for most people and most species. Anyone who is living a life of ease, often is doing so at the expense of others.
