Unfortunate that this again promotes Brother Adam's assertion that the native dark bees of the UK were wiped out by the 'Isle of Wight disease'.

In my view, Brother Adam's hybridisation that did far more harm to our native stock than the IOW disease.

However, at long last, the EU now seems to be realising the importance of native, locally-adapted stock with the SMART project.
