I know that, and appreciate much of what CAPA does, and I know and
respect many if not all the CAPA members, so I am not picking on them.
I think you know I am stirring the pot in hopes of improving the stew
and to prevent sticking on the bottom.

By the same token, I know that CAPA's realities, goals and perspectives
are not the same as the commercial beekeeper's and that there is a
considerable divergence, as well as an imbalance in influence on
legislators and regulating bodies.

While CAPA focusses on bee health, beekeepers focus on economics and
beekeeper health. The two are not the same.

CAPA members are paid by the public purse and have to try to guess and
consider other interests besides those of the beekeepers. CAPA members
have a secure, regular paycheque and a pension if they do not rock the
boat. Commercial beekeepers have to fend for themselves and accumulate
their own pensions. That very fact makes for a very different
perspective on the areas of mutual interest.

I am also always concerned when a overview tends to obscure the
realities on the ground, especially an apparently authoritative overview
like this.

Such studies show that the whole the population is being fed, yet a
closer look shows that some are overfed and some are starving.
