Spoutwood debuts film on bee loss
(The York Dispatch) http://www.yorkdispatch.com/ci_15815280

"Vanishing of the Bees," starring local beekeeper David Hackenberg, will be shown for free at 7 p.m. Saturday at Spoutwood Farm, 4255 Pierceville Road, Codorus Township.

Barnes, a retired college professor, ... counts the number of bees that have died over the winter each year. Over the past four years, he said he has lost about 30 percent of his honeybee population.

"If that level continues, the honeybees will die in my lifetime," he said.
