Does this coincide with your black locust bloom?

>>No, I purchased them from a local queen breeder

What bee does he favor?  Any particular race/line? 

>>No, while the nucs and splits have supers on, none were ready to  
extract.  All 43 were on the 7 original hives

That's an excellent yield.  What are the primary floral sources in your area?

>>The 1200 lbs doesn't include autumn honey which I extract  
and is usually slightly less than the summer crop

That is really exceptional for a stationary apiary unless this is the norm in Ontario.  What kind of area are you in (suburbia, rural)?
