"Neither pure essences nor blends of
essences were effective to control AFB at the
doses and formulations tested in this study. On
the contrary, colonies  treated with essences
showed higher levels of infection  than those
receiving control treatments. This may be
related to a certain level of toxicity of the
essences to larvae and adults."
