I thought this was a bee informed board??? Juanse said "we know the
causes" which would very easily imply it was something that could have
been/needs to be addressed?

Knowing the cause of something does not automatically give one the power over it. We know the causes of volcanoes, hurricanes, various diseases, highway accidents, etc. Wisdom is knowing the difference between what we can control and what we cannot. We can push the boundaries, but not eliminate the fact that reality is largely out of our control.

I would be more careful about the use of the word "informed." Having vast amounts of information does not give one the understanding of that information nor the ability to make good use of it. Intelligence is the tool that takes in the information and converts it to principles that can be applied to problems.

Information without intelligence is just like have a great workshop full of the best tools, but no skill. Also needed: talent.
