On one occasion I watched a bee dancing on the surface of a swarm and, 
with the aid of my own shadow, was able accurately to predict the 
direction in which the swarm would fly, telling a spectator before they 
took off.

On another occasion, at an agricultural show, I was put in charge of an 
observation hive and was able, over several hours to see the change in 
direction of the dance as the sun progressed.  The target appeared to 
be a clump of sycamores a few furlongs away.
