I find I can dissolve 2:1 with boiling water and a lot of stirring. I
doubt if you could get it thicker. Can anyone say if usually the bees
break the sugar into fructose and glucose or leave it as sucrose when it
is fed 2:1. I remember Ron Brown once said that he thought bees always
reduced the strength to 1:1 anyway before processing. In which case
surely we stress them by demanding they collect water to take the syrup
we give them? Any thoughts or better, evidence from studies?
