FYI:

Flash point of beeswax: 204.4 °C (399.9 °F) (https://fscimage.fishersci.com/msds/02556.htm)

In the recent discussion of hazards using wax dips, this has not yet been mentioned. Four hundred degrees Fahrenheit is not a high temperature when you have a fire under your wax.

Randy is right about doing this work when he says:

"If one builds a hot wax tank, I suggest that you have an airtight cover at hand (can be plywood), which will immediately snuff out flames, a CO2 fire extinguisher, a bucket of cold water into which you can plunge your hands, and a water hose at hand (never put water into hot wax!)."

Bee ware!

Christina
