I can take as many stings as the next beekeeper and at times check hives
without a veil but almost always wear a bug baffler these days made for
mosquitoes ( available two places off the net) when *working* hives.

All bees can have a bad day. Even Kona.  I have seen most bees go for the
eyes (as evidenced by bees bouncing off veils around the eyes).

The eye lid  ,eyeball , inner nose and inner ear can be a dangerous place
for those without full immunity like you and I carry to get stung.

I have had all but a direct hit on the eyeball.  I do not care about my help
getting stings other places but prefer the help wears at least a bug
baffler.
