Expectations are high in this southern tip of the world for the re start of
the european honey market. We all know that the 6th of september the
European Court should release their final opinion on the GMO Honey issue.

Some people think that because milk have the same problem than honey (ie.
genetic detection through PCR) the jury should not stop the trade of honey
or they will affect the milk market. What do you think?

On the other hand, the news about chinesse "nohey" crap entering the USA and
European market should be worrysome in the sense of keeping the price down?
Based on the weather pattern in the northern hemisphere (NH) the
expectations are for a low to medium harvest and this will soften the
controls? or not?

The informal communication channels indicate the Lagnese have started to
purchase honey again, before the EU Jury resolution , what do you know about
this?

Finally the same sources indicate that 66% of the app 70.000 ton of
argentinian 2011 honey crop are already sold, plus the low NH production
indicate a surge in honey price, reality or whichfull thinking?

How much will the current finantial crisis affect the honey market?

Any fact based comments are wellcome.
