Science is good at explaining things that repeat reliably, but can have problems with unique one of a kind or rare events and things that appear only under specific circumstances, especially if the conditions are unknown.

We had a marked and laying breeder queen disappear entirely from a small nuc for something like a week one time. She was just not there and my wife looked at every single bee twice and wernt through the nuc several times. She was about to requeen it when the mother bee showed up again.
