<I suggest that we should do a trial run on something very simple and
see how it works out. Ideas people?>

Best idea I've heard all day, but I can't think of anything simple to test
of the top of my head, maybe we should set some guidelines steer us toward
something doable. I'm shooting from the hip here but if we have a list of
criteria and maybe a target topic we will generate some more interest and
ideas.

I agree with simple, we should probably also add to that.

criteria:
simple
inexpensive
can be done with relatively few bee resources (single colony? two?
replication would give power)
low time commitment (doing daily/weekly mite counts would probably drive
down numbers)
easy standardization
specific measurements (strength/vigor can be relative so we need something
specific that isn't likely to be subject to undue amounts of interpretation)

Something that people like to talk about (or argue for that matter) might
boost participation as well.

Topics:
neonics
varroa
hive configuration

So what does everyone think? Additions, subtractions or suggestions? If we
can come up with something plausable there's plenty of ways to recruit.
