Someone told me this yesterday (we were having a similar conversation), so I looked it up.

It seems that there were 3 patients in a Vancouver Hospital that had MRSA infections that were found (while in the hospital) with bedbugs on them.  The bugs were killed, and the smeared bugs (that were presumably in the process of sucking blood from these patients) tested positive for MRSA.  There is nothing surprising about this.

So, no smoking gun on transmission via bedbugs....yet.
