I have to agree with Anne, I loved Seeley's book, Honey Bee Democracy.
I read it after I had read Keith S. Delaplane's 3 part series on swarming; American Bee Journal, 2017, Vol.157, No. 5-7.
Dr. Delaplane referred to the super-organism in that series of articles and I detected no anthropomorphism in his articles.
I am usually quite aware of anthropomorphism when reading and I did not detect that in Dr. Seeley's book. The choice of terms that he used made his book readable and enjoyable, but not pap. I thought there was some great science demonstrated there.
Whatever is being promoted, or perceived to be promoted, by Dr. Seeley recently has skipped my attention, but I remain a fan of Honey Bee Democracy.
Best regards,
Brian
