Okay, you're right.  I made my conclusions based on those whom I know and it's a broad brush unfairly painting others whom I don't know.

We all raise bees for different reasons.  But my first-hand observation of these guys who "have" bees (not necessarily "keep" bees, ala George Imerie) leads me to what you feel are unfair assumptions about others.  It's not about you.  And I'd bet a box of doughnuts if you knew these guys you'd probably think they were lazy as well.

I don't use "chemicals," though I "treat" my hives and manipulate them (it's called "management") to keep them alive and keep them productive.  I don't think a blanket, non-treatment approach is necessarily a viable, long-term option, though simply saying, "no treatments," means different things to different people.

And quite frankly, I shouldn't have been so judgmental.  It's their bees and their hobby.  They can do with their bees whatever they want, even killing they through ignorance.  Though I disagree and feel they are lazy, they are within their rights.

Sorry if you thought I was talking about you, in general.
