>What is the evidence for 
(a) that CCD "spores" (good word since we don't know what causes CCD) are passed on through old equipment ? and 
(b) what is the evidence that bleach can decomtaminate the equipment ? 
These both seem to be extremely important questions and I have only seen anecdotal references.

And that's all you will find (anecdotal ref)
But the evidence seems pretty conclusive, with widespread agreement
Long enough, strong enough bleach will  kill even AFB
