What Bill T writes is untrue.

There are members of the MSBA Board who are convinced by the science
that reducing the amount of neonics used in Maine would be a good thing.

There was a vote to support a measure being worked on by Rep. Jones
which was to have called for a two year moratorium (not ban) of neonics
by folks who livelihood did not depend upon their use. The bill was
primarily aimed at homeowners who acquire neonics (and other ag
chemicals) from Big Box stores, often it is believed, without
knowing/understanding what they are purchasing.

I, an At-Large Member of the MSBA Board of Directors, voted AGAINST the
proposal. There was a vote. It was not unanimous. That in itself
shows there are diverse views on the use of pesticides and neonics in
particular in Maine.
