Good mellifera mellifera is underestimated IMO. I guess it depends on what you want.

Tough bees with distinct and long broodstops. Here I see eggs always laid in little clusters at the time, with larvae removed when the weather turns unfavorable. No cooeld brood or disturbed brood to bees ratio. Fast bees that run generally on the combs. In bad years they don't grow big, they hardly grow at all, but they don't die either. Agression is variable in the population we have. Depends on the circumstances, laying queens and good weather with nectar flow is very different from only cells or unmated queens in bad weather. Depends on the beekeeper a lot too, rough guys get a rough response.

If a flow is on they will give a crop. If no flow happens they do not need much managment, they just might skip swarming if no resources are present.
