Pegasus does the same task very nicely and is rated as the top mail
clent in Stroud's.  It is also  freeware.
 
Moreover the mail client available with Microsoft Internet Explorer
(also free) does the job too.
 
Both are available for download at all the usual places including
Tuucows and Strouds in 16 and 32 bit versions.
