Just to follow up for anyone who might have seen my note and been worried,
I used a test kit which was negative for AFB. On more careful inspection,
there was no discolored brood, and the cappings seemed mostly fine.
Reading glasses were useful!  I'll keep an eye on the spotty brood to see
if it improves or whether I need to requeen.
