On my recent tour, I stumbled across something interesting that relates to 
what we were discussing here recently.

I had said that I seldom see many varroa in burr comb or drones.  Here is 
what we saw in a hive which gave up only three mites in an alcohol wash of 
300 bees taken from the brood comb.

In addition to what you see in the picture, there were four more mites that 
we had removed to examine.  We also watched misshapen drones emerge nearby 
with mites on them.  Some were apparently perfect in spite of two mites on 
their backs, but some were hopelessly deformed and/or lacking wings.
