Hrm, my email got rejected initially for too many quotes.  Not sure what
that's about, but I'm snipping out most of what was in the original email
from Jimmy:

This would be a fun science project.  Try mixing some fluorescin dye in with
the patty (it's non-toxic, although I can't say with certainty that it's
non-toxic to bees).  Give them a few days to do their thing and then check
the frames in the dark with some UV light to see if anything glows.  Pretty
soon I'll be doing similar to see if my girls are making it to a friend's
garden about a mile away from me.  The plan is to mix the dye and spray the
garden  with it during the day, and check the hive in the evening for glow
in the dark bees.

I also wanted to "shake and bake" a few hundred bees in dry fluorescin and
release them a mile away and see if they make it back to the hive.
