Fortunately the ones I have seen in our are not the variety that produce the toxins.  Not all Eupatorium are toxic, especially the ones that rely heavily on pollinators like the North American varieties.

I think most of the varieties that to contain the toxicity are pink flowers and mainly in Asia...though when I was researching I think one is native to British Columbia as well.
