I'm still thinking of a prank that will be appropriate "revenge" for this.
(Maybe queen pheromone on socks while everyone is at church.)

At least a dozen reporters called about the "40% Bee Losses" story.
But about the Administration's push to actually do something about the
problem, and the millions in new funding for desperately-needed R&D?
Not a single call, not even an email.

So the BIP "preliminary" results were clearly announced with full knowledge
of the upcoming policy announcement.

Say what you like about BIP's survey methodologies, the PR work was
excellent, if cynical.

But far more important for pollinators and the environment as a whole was
some obscure rule clarifications from the EPA regarding water:

EPA says that they are helping landowners better understand exactly which
"waters" fall under the Clean Water Act.
So, a "tributary" must show evidence of flowing water to be protected, like
a bank or a high water mark.
All farming practices currently exempted from the Clean Water Act will
still be exempted.

But this "extends" the regulations to seasonal wetland and dry-country
tributary watercourses that have been the subject of argument from knowing
and willful polluters.

This is a good thing, as it is the first acknowledgement that water tends
comes from somewhere, and it has to flow through tributaries to reach the
"protected waterways".
