Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime, invent a balanced fish food and you allow one man to feed the world’s entire population forever with a single fish farm.

My experience is that if you teach a man to fish he will spend the rest of his life sitting in a boat, drinking beer and telling lies.

Plenty of anecdotes to go around but it can't be denied that we are doing 90 miles an hour down a dead end street. We need ag, we need bees , we need thoughtful people to look clearly at our situation and try to steer a better course. I found the article very well written if not perfect. I find very little perfect writing. About as close as you are likely to find though (IMHO) is the book mentioned, The Big Ratchet by Ruth DeFries. I recommend it to all especially Charlie.
