I enjoy the variety of opinions on Bee-L and relish that generally posts
are without malice. I wish I could say the same for everything I read.

Regarding Neonics: At the risk of over simplifying, I get the
impression that what people are objecting to is that they act
differently than what came before. Given that the purpose of (most)
insecticides is to kill something – does it matter if they kill outright
as the old insecticides did or over time as sub-lethal doses accumulate?

I'm presuming that continued research will show that accumulations of
sub-lethal doses cause more harm than was first thought to Honey bees
and native pollinators. The question in my mind is what's the end
result look like? Dead is dead after all. Are we more accurately
discussing the methods of causing death, with public preference going to
quick as opposed to lingering?
