You are absolutely right, and I was around at the time, too, so no excuses.
Must be Old Timers setting in.  I notice I stayed out of that one.  Must have 
thought that the product would never show up in my shop.

I got out a different set of calipers and I get 5.0 plus a tiny fraction.  Nice 
machine work.

So, anyhow, what made Mann Lake decide to chuck the traditional sizes? 
Did they do some research, or did their toolmaker just like nice round 
numbers?  

Are they expecting America to become totally Africanized soon?

Did they think they were making 4.9?  

Why would they do that?
