I recently bought a Zareba ˝ Joule Good-for-3Miles 6-Volt Solar Fence
Charger. After the recommended three days in the sun while it charged the
6-Volt battery I installed it on the fence – with misgivings because the
tester showed only one or two lights and those only faintly. It apparently
never reached anything like a full charge on the fence so I exchanged it for
a replacement at Tractor supply.

Now I am having the same problem with the replacement. Little or no result
on the tester in the morning after a night of pulsing the fence. Two lights
might show up on the tester after an entire day in the sun.

The fence has 14 gauge wire – all connections tightly crimped – 12 gauge
insulated jumper wires and ground wires going to two four foot ground rods.
I am pretty confident that my fence is wired and ground correctly.

Should I give up on Zareba and get a DC powered “fencer” by made by somebody
else?
