" have also been using a Parmak solar unit for over a year in one yard, and
it has never gone low, even when grounded to green weeds. I've been very
impressed!"

Same here - and the well grounded solar Parmak packs a punch of 11,000
volts - twice what my Gallaghers put out- and has a built in fence status
meter. Price is right at $300 at Princess Auto. We bait with Sardine cans
hard wired to the fence. Our bears are very well trained...and the staff
not so much.
