Someone told me that they have seen honey bees feeding on overripe apples
that have fallen on the ground.

Have anyone witnessed this?

I see many honey bees as well as yellow jackets feeding on the dropped apples
in my orchard. We have had several frosts and there isn't much in the way of
flowering plants left.
