     I once left a Pierco frame of comb in my classroom too long (more
than a year) and found that some kind of insect (maybe wax moths) had
reduced the comb to powder (frass) which left the plastic frame and
foundation whistle-clean.  Why not let wax moths try to clean the frame;
they are good at it!
