There is a very unusual heat wave going here in Central Coast area of Ca. 
In this picture which I took yesterday, Feb. 7 you can see that the 
pollinator variety of almonds are already in full bloom.

I saw one Blue Orchard Bee, still there after a three year experiment, but 
just one and the bamboo bank where they live isn't active at all.
