In skimming this, I did not understand if the doses and application in 
the study are comparable to levels probable in a hive with Apivar applied.

When reading such abstracts, I am always am the lookout for words and 
statements that reveal an agenda, bias or BS. In this one, I note the 
following:

"The above responses clearly show that the heart of the honeybee is 
extremely vulnerable to amitraz, which is nevertheless still used inside 
beehives, ostensibly to “protect” the honeybees against their main 
parasite, Varroa destructor."

Ostensibly?  "protect"?
