Hi Vince,
I am interested how deep were frames you used in the long hive.
I was told by one beekeeper that long hive work fine in case
that frames are at least 35cm (14inches) deep. Number of frames
can be much lower than.
 
The only problem is that this frames
won't pass in a honey-extractor.
