Dr. Pettis is the lead author of the following paper (also pertinent to the
other thread we are discussing):

"Pesticide exposure in honeybees results in increased levels of the gut
pathogen Nosema" published in 2012

In the abstract of that paper they say "Interactions between pesticides and
pathogens could be a major contributor to increased mortality of honeybee
colonies, including colony collapse disorder and other pollinator declines
worldwide".

The pesticide used in the experiments was imidacloprid.

And that is on the record (published).
